Sarah E. Fenton's Obituary
Decatur-Sarah E. Fenton, 94 years old, of Tempe, AZ, returned to her heavenly home August 2, 2009. Sarah was a longtime Decatur resident who relocated to Tempe, AZ four years ago to be close to her family.
Services to celebrate Sarah’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 in the chapel at the Star of Hope Chapel Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery with Pastor Charles Watkins officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 – 11:00 am at the mausoleum. Entombment with the “Flight Home” Ceremony will be at the Star of Hope Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, AZ 85014. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting Sarah’s family with these arrangements. Sarah was born June 9, 1915 in Sedalia, MO the daughter of Charles and Bessie (Harden) Graham. She married Harold Fenton on August 30, 1941 in Decatur, IL. Sarah was a longtime member of the Central Church in Decatur.
She leaves behind her daughter Linda Kiefer of Tempe, AZ; four grandchildren Christopher (Heather), Gregory (Suzanne), Gina Luehrs (Freddie), and Lisa Batzler (Mike). Sarah was known to seven darling great grandchildren as “G.G.”.
Sarah was reunited in Heaven with her husband Harold, daughter Janet Ray, son-in-law Robert M. Kiefer, and her parents Charles and Bessie.
