Sarah Ruth Long's Obituary
Decatur-Sarah Ruth Long, 89, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 in her home.
She was born January 2, 1924 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Thomas and Amanda (Simon) Long. She was previously employed with ADM, the Decatur Club, and Northtown Bank. She was a member of Maranatha Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed photography, knitting, crocheting, and reading. She was also caregiver taking care of her parents and friends. She was always willing to lend a helping hand.
She leaves behind her sister Blanche 'Dee' Johnson of Corpus Christi, Texas, best friend Naomi Reeter of Decatur, and several nieces and nephews.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
Services to celebrate Sarah's life will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services. Burial with 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Homeward Bound Pet Shelter.
