Sarah L. Metzger's Obituary
Decatur-Sarah L. Metzger, 48, of Decatur, passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Sarah was born February 25, 1967 in Berwyn, Illinois, the daughter of John and Marilyn (Brantner) Metzger. She was previously employed at St. Mary’s Hospital. Sarah loved sports and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.
Sarah leaves behind her mother Marilyn Metzger, father John Metzger (Paula), brother Michael Metzger (Peggy), nephews Staff Sgt. Anthony Metzger and Andrew Metzger, nieces Ashley Metzger (fiancée Ray) and Paige Metzger step-nieces Hope Theobald (Goyl), Tiffany Theobald (Julie Harbarger), great-niece Amaia Jones, and her beloved cat Kaje.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. John Newlin, Dr. Victor Eloy, and the nurses and staff at DMH IMC for all of their loving care.
Private family services to celebrate Sarah’s life will be held. Memorials are suggested to the Community Foundation of Macon County for Homeward Bound.
