Sarita D. Killian's Obituary
Decatur – Sarita D. Killian, 86, of Decatur, passed away at her daughter’s home with family by her side Sunday, December 10, 2017.
Sarita was born February 26, 1931, in Coulterville, IL, the daughter of Robert E. and Janie G. (Oliver) Carney. A member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, she married Robert E. Killian and he preceded her in death March 17, 1998.
Left to cherish fond memories is her daughter, Wanda Killian of Decatur; grandchildren: David Muhammad, Warnether Muhammad and Peter Killian; great grandchildren: Elijah Muhammad, Cheyenne Muhammad, Aasia-Malik Muhammad, Aliviea Smith, Kelsey Killian-Washburn, Keleah Killian and Pierre Killian; great-great grandchildren: Elijah Muhammad, Jr, and Brylie Young; brothers: Norman Carney, Iverson Carney and Clyde Carney; sisters: Audrey Barken, Gloria Carney and Carol Clayton; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Sarita was preceded in death by her parents; beloved sister Wrenzola Carney-Owens; brothers: Robert L. Carney, Richard R. Carney and Floyd Carney.
The family would like to thank St. Mary’s Hospital 6th Floor, Decatur Memorial Hospital ER, Carle Hospital, Dr. Melissa Ajunwa Bohonos and Harbor Light Hospice Dr.’s, nurses and staff for the care of our loved one.
Funeral service will be 11 AM Friday, December 15, 2017, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home; visitation will begin thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will take place in Coulterville Cemetery, Coulterville, IL, Saturday December 16, 2017, at 11 AM.
