Decatur - Scott Moody York, 73, of Decatur, IL passed away November 29, 2021 at his residence.
Scott was born October 29, 1948, in Decatur, IL, the son of Walter and Mary (Moody) York.
Scott was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam Era. Following his military service, Scott served as a truck driver for many years. Upon his retirement from the trucking industry, he accepted a position as a custodian for Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and an avid reader.
Surviving are his brother Hunter York (Cindy) of Decatur, IL and sister, Sue of Washington DC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marsha Sulenski, and brother Steve York.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home; visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Tabernacle Baptist Church.
