Shane Adcock's Obituary
Decatur-Shane “Shane O” B. Adcock, 54, of Decatur passed away 2:10 a.m. Monday, February 28, 2011 at Aspen Ridge Care Center after a very long battle with cancer.
A visitation to share memories of the life of Shane will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 5-8:00 p.m. at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. A memorial service for Shane will take place April 2, 2011 at noon in the Pavilion at Fairview Park. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a memorial fund set up at Land of Lincoln Credit Union. Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Shane was born September 22, 1956 the son of Darrell and Jean (Sumpter) Adcock. Shane worked for Crown Cork & Seal in Warrensburg, Illinois before his illness. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and was a retired member of the Black Pistons Motorcycle Club in Decatur, Illinois.
Shane leaves behind his parents, son; Jacob Adcock of Pana, sisters; Robbin Sheets and husband Bill of Decatur, and Heather Giles and husband David of Illiopolis, brother; Bret Adcock and wife Leisa of Clinton.
The family would like to give thanks to Dr. Wade and Dr. Valessco, and the staff at the Cancer Treatment Center of Decatur for all their care, and the wonderful nurses at the 5100 Oncology Unit at Decatur Memorial Hospital and the staff at Aspen Ridge. There are Angels among us.
Thanks to the Black Pistons Motorcycle Club for the brotherhood and the meaning of belonging and bonding of life.
