Decatur – Sharon Kaye Sims took her first steps into heaven in the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 4, 2023. She was 78 years old and loved far more than she ever imagined. She was born on October 7, 1944, to Delbert and Read Obituary
Sharon was a very special lady! I attended study classes with her at New Beginnings Church. When I was in need of a job, she recommended me for a position at Richland in Clinton. I was hired due to her confidence in me. When she worked at New Beginnings she had a "GO" button that had no slow down function. She was always ready to help. Now the Joy is knowing she rests in the Arms of Jesus.

Sister Sims is a huge reason that I am living for God. She was my Sunday School teacher when I was very little and my children's church leader. She made going to church and learning about God fun & exciting. As a girl from an unhappy home which soon became a broken home Sis. Sims showed me love and compassion when I wasn't getting it at home. Because of the love of God I felt from her and others at "Bethel" I made the decision at a young age to follow Christ. Every time anyone asks who was the biggest influence on my life I tell them Sis. Sims. She was truly an inspiration! I'll always love her! ❤️
Sharon was a respected dear coworker of mine at DMH. She was a shining star in the same day surgery registration area. She was devoted to her job. Everyone who spoke to her was blessed & encouraged that God would look after them during surgery. I attended her Bible study groups occasionally. She was so knowledgeable of God's word. We love you Sharon. Sincere condolences to family from Denise Littrell.
Sharon was a joy to be around. I loved coming into her office for a quick hello or a good conversation. She was a total sweetheart. And she could bake! I remember we would fight over any treats she would bring into work, they are always so delicious! Rest peacefully, Sharon. You are home with the Lord.
Sharon was one of God's angels. I used to enjoy coming into her office at Richland just to say hello and we would share our faith. She was always such an up beat person who refused to let anyone drag her down or take away her joy. When she retired, it felt like singing the song, "Ain't no Sunshine When She's Gone" because she was indeed the "sunshine" in her office. She is now gone to be with the Lord and her beloved husband. Sleep peacefully my dear friend Sharon. May God bless and keep your family throughout this time of sorrow.

My thoughts and prayers to Sharon’s family on the loss of an amazing woman. From my first meeting with Sharon to the many years we were colleagues at Richland, I know she went straight to heaven. Sharon always put God first and I’m sure she is basking in His glory in heaven. When anyone met Sharon, they could see her immense love for the Lord emanating from deep in her heart. The world has lost an angel on earth but heaven has gained a fierce warrior for God’s army!

Tina and Melody, I remember your Mom so well when you lived next door to us so many years ago. Many memories, such a wonderful and "fun" lady she was. Her relationship with my Mom and our family was very special. I was shocked to say the least when I saw this. No words can offer comfort except that she is with God and George now. Will never forget her or how special she was and how she Loved you girls .May the Good Lord help and comfort you in your loss. Loved her....
