Sharon L. Williams' Obituary
Decatur-Sharon L. Williams, 71, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
She was born March 17, 1943 in Paris, Illinois, the son of Andrew Jackson and Lida Bell (Wilson) McCarty. She was previously employed with TRW in Marshall, Illinois and Grigolet, A.W. Cash Valve, and Circle K in Decatur. She was a very active member of GT Church. She married Wallace “Wally” Williams May 27, 1963. They shared over fifty-one years together.
She leaves behind her husband Wally Sr. of Decatur, children Melanie (Jesus) Godinez of San Diego, California, Valarie (Lyle “Eddie”) Street of Macon, and Wallace Jr. of Decatur, brother Stanley (Carol) McCarty of Texarkana, Texas, grandchildren Jennifer, Jessica, and Michael Hector, Andrea Betzer and John Street, and Brittany (Sean) Manual and Austin and Coltin Williams and their mother Rhonda, great-grandchildren Caden, Hayley, and Kylie Betzer, and special friend Mary Jackson.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, brothers Sharod, Sherman, Larry, and Sam McCarty, and sister Zella Louise Jones.
Services to celebrate Sharon’s life will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
