Sheila Kay Eskew's Obituary
Sheila Kay Eskew, aged 54, passed away on March 14, 2025, in Champaign, Illinois.
Born on August 29, 1970, Sheila graduated from Stephen Decatur High School and furthered her education at the University of Illinois at Springfield. Sheila was known for her warm, humorous, and loving personality. She embraced life with a spirit that drew people to her, famously never having met a stranger. Her ability to love unconditionally and appreciate everyone's uniqueness won her many friends and admirers.
In her leisure, Sheila was passionate about dragons and Star Wars. She also enjoyed collecting books, and reading. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Sheila's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the deep impact one individual can have on their community through simple acts of love and friendship. Her memory will be cherished by the many lives she touched.
Sheila is survived by a loving family: her mother, Lillian Kay Eskew; sister, Julie Harding (Jason); daughter, Amy Kelly (Ryan); son, Hayden Ater (Brittany Williams); and five cherished grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Dean Eskew, and her granddaughter, Lakoda Lynn Taylor.
Funeral service for Sheila will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation prior to service will begin at 11:00 am, and burial in Graceland Cemetery will follow.
