Sheila Mae Knight's Obituary
Decatur-Sheila Mae 'She-She' Knight, 51, of Decatur, passed away at 8:50 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2012, after a courageous three year battle with cancer, in her home with her family by her side.
Services to celebrate Sheila's life will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2012 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the funeral home. Interment with 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
Sheila was born November 2, 1960 in Decatur the daughter of James Howard and Doris Eileen (Nash) Knight. She was previously employed with St. Mary's Hospital. She enjoyed riding motorcycles with Jim.
She leaves behind her companion Jim Pettyjohn, his children and grandchildren of Decatur, brothers, James R. Knight and wife Linda of Sarasota, Florida and Eddie Knight of Ft. White, Florida, sisters, Brenda L. Knight of Decatur, Sherry L. Oyler and husband Rodney of Macon, and Karla A. Johnson of Decatur, three step-sisters, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, grandparents, and one step-sister.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Velasco, Karen, and all the nurses and staff at Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois for their compassionate care and to all of Sheila's friends and family who stayed with her to the end.
