Shirley Ann Cotton's Obituary
Decatur-Shirley Ann Cotton, 78, of Decatur, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 in her home with her family by her side.
Shirley was born April 8, 1937 in Decatur the daughter of Ellsworth Hill and Lucille (Kern) Bechtel. She was a devoted homemaker. Shirley married Claude Cotton and he preceded her in death.
Shirley leaves behind her son Steven Waltz of Decatur, daughters Sandra (Vern Schoneman) Ras of Decatur, Nancy (Kevin) Butcher of Oreana, and Phyllis (Richard) King of Decatur, sisters Dorothy Waltz of Decatur, Patricia Brady of Decatur, and Phyllis Jackson of Florida, twelve grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Danny Wiley, brothers Ronald Crist and Robert Hill, sisters Catherine Lee and Charlotte Lewis, and grandchildren Tommy Emert, Patty Emert, and Steven Brooks.
Services to celebrate Shirley’s life will be 3 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the wishes of the family in care of Sandra Ras.
