Shirley Jensen's Obituary
Kenney - Shirley Jensen, 80, of Kenney, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, July 28, 2012. She was a charter member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church (2155 N. Oakland Ave, Decatur, IL) and a memorial service will be held there on Saturday, August 4th at 2:30pm. Instead of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church, American Red Cross, or the donor's choice.
Shirley was born Oct. 4, 1931, in Decatur, the daughter of George and Frances (Foster) Stern. She was a graduate of Decatur High School and Brown's Business College. She married Marvin Jensen November 18, 1951, and they farmed together in the Kenney area for fifty years before retiring.
Surviving are her husband, Marvin, and her children: Steven (Lisa) of Kenney; Mark (Hazel) of Manchester, MO; Renee (Frederick) Wrage of Clinton; Kevin (Lori) of Woodridge; Brian (Cindy) of Yorkville; Ruth (Randy) Hutchison of Allen, TX; 15 grandchildren and their spouses; and 8 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister (Helen Stremming) and one brother (George Stern).
Shirley lived by the Words of Ephesians 2:8: "By grace you and I are saved through faith in Jesus; it is not your own doing."
