Shirley M. Cox's Obituary
-Shirley Cox, 82, of Decatur, passed away at 9:07 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Fair Havens Christian Home with her family by her side.
Private graveside services to celebrate Shirley’s life will be in Graceland Cemetery Saturday, June 27, 2009 with Pastor Joel Ruppert officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to your charity of choice. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting her family with these arrangements. Shirley was born June 20, 1927 in Chicago, the daughter of Harold and Yvonne (Benoit) Johnson. She retired from Illinois Power were she was a key punch operator. She married Glenn Coxon December 1, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death.
She leaves behind her daughter; Karen Reynolds and husband Mike of Dalton City, sons; Mark Cox and Robin Owens, Bruce Cox, and Craig Cox all of Decatur grandchildren; Jacquelyne Reynolds, Brian Reynolds, Tracy Oliver, and Davey Cox, and four great-grandchildren; Kylie Hufford, Mason Oliver, Leighton Oliver, Lucas Reynolds, and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Shirley’s family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Fair Havens, St. Mary’s Hospital fourth and sixth floors, with a special thanks to Dr. Khan.
