Sonja Kay Oliver's Obituary
Sonja Kay Oliver, 61, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away January 24, 2024.
Sonja was born in Decatur on December 12, 1962, the daughter of David R. Oliver and Judith A. Hawkins. Sonja was a sweet, fun-loving, caring young woman who loved her family and the people with whom she shared a home. A few of Sonja’s favorite things were listening to music and rocking in her chair.
Sonja is survived by her parents; siblings Shelia (Robert) Copus and Shannon Oliver; Charlie Mason and Steve Mason; Andrew Oliver, Kristin Oliver (Eric Dominguez), Sean Oliver, and Ryan Oliver; nieces and nephews Zoe Copus, Zackary Mason, Luke Mason, Alyssa Oliver, and Kayden Oliver; and many extended Oliver family members. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Herbert and Glacia Oliver, and Beartie Hawkins.
A funeral service for Sonja will be held at 1p.m. on Friday, February 2nd at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will take place beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial in Graceland Cemetery will follow the service.
