Spencer Alan Carter's Obituary
Spencer Alan Carter, 50, of Blue Mound, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Spencer was born on October 23, 1970, in Decatur, the son of Mark and Judy (Humes) Carter. He earned a Master’s Degree in Economics and taught at several colleges and universities, including Millikin, Richland, and Parkland. He later started his own computer company, Carter Computer Consulting. He was a member of Ham Radio Operators, B.L.A.S.H. Investment Club, and Commodore Club. Spencer was a member of West Decatur Church of God. He married Tina Donaldson in November of 2006.
Spencer is survived by his wife Tina; father Mark Carter; fur babies Jane Russell, Taylor, and Buddy; mothers-in-law Sherry Thrash and Peggy Donaldson; two aunts; one uncle; and a large number of extended family members. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
Cremation services are being provided by Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on August 20 at 6pm at West Decatur Church of God. Visitation will take place 30 minutes prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the the family. Condolences may be left for the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
