Stacy Lyn Melton's Obituary
Decatur-Stacy Lyn Melton, 55, of Decatur, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 in her home with her family by her side after a courageous year and a half battle with cancer.
Stacy was born April 23, 1962 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Jack and Beverly (Himes) Giles. She enjoyed her country music and was an avid dog lover. She also loved to play bingo and the slots. Stacy married Dennis Melton March 10, 1999 in Decatur. They shared over eighteen wonderful years.
Stacy leaves behind her husband Dennis, mother Beverly Korthals, sons Rodney (McKenzie) Miller, Jack (Cindy) Miller, and Dustin (Halee) Trusner, brothers Duane Giles, David (Linda) Giles, and D.J. Giles, sisters Sherry (Kerry) Branson, Shelly (Michael) Gentry, and Sheila Shreve and Vinny Rivas, eight grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Stacy was preceded in death by her father Jack, sister Suzanne “Suzi” Chandler, and brothers DaNeal, Donnie, and Denny Giles.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the team at Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois and Becky and the DMH Hospice team for their care and support.
Services to celebrate Stacy’s life will be 11:00 AM Friday, September 22, 2017 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services. Burial will be at Hall Cemetery in Blue Mound. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to DMH Hospice. The family requests casual attire.
