Stella Weingand's Obituary
Decatur-Stella Weingand, 91, of Decatur, passed away 10:15 am Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Stella’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010 St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2160 N. Edward, with Father James Palakudy Celebrant. There will be no visitation. Entombment with “Flight Home” Ceremony will be at the Star of Hope Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to DMH Hospice or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Stella was born March 23, 1919 in Pierre MN, the daughter of Ezydor and Helen (Makoski) Halicki. Stella retired from the Marvel-Schebler Company. Stella loved gardening, bowling and golfing. Stella married Alfred Weingand November 21, 1945 in Clinton IL.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her husband of 64 years, son; Richard and wife Terry of Springfield, grandson; Michael, bother-in-law; Paul G. and wife Lucy Weingand of Satellite Beach, FL, and many nieces and nephews
Stella was greeted into heaven by her parents and brothers; Chet, Cas, and Pete, and sister Hattie.
