Stephen Walter York's Obituary
Stephen Walter York, our beloved Father, Brother, Loving Companion and Papa Steve, 62, of Decatur, passed away at 1:22 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 with his family by his side.
Steve was born August 28, 1951 in Decatur, IL, the son of Walter and Mary (Moody) York.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Marcia Sulenski.
Steve lit up every room with his smile and generous spirit that was second to none.
He was employed by Decatur Machine and Tool as a machinist for 26 years.
He leaves behind his children Heather Dennis (Brad) of Franklin, TN and Ian York (Ashley) of Fort Mill, SC, his loving companion Rose England of Decatur, brothers Scott York and Hunter York (Cindy) of Decatur and Sue Ozner (Paul) of Arlington, VA, and 5 grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Steve’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2014 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to St. John’s Hospice or the AmericanCancer Society.
