Steven P. Burger's Obituary
Decatur- Steven P. Burger, 66, of Decatur passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with his family at his bedside.
A Celebration of Life service for Steven will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Faith Baptist Church, 875 W. Grove Rd. Decatur, Illinois 62521, with a visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. to the time of service, Pastor Joseph Huss to officiate. Entombment will be at the Star of Hope Mausoleum at Graceland Cemetery.Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. Steven was born December 4, 1944 in Bloomington, IL, the son of Richard and Reva (Scogin) Burger. He retired from ABF trucking and was a member of the Teamsters for 47 years. He attended Faith Baptist Church. He married Paulene Lauterberg, August 3, 1963.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, wife; Paulene of 47 years, son; Steven Burger of Mt. Zion, daughters; Paula McDonald of Lincoln, and Rebecca Wilhelm of Lincoln, grandchildren; Aaron Murray, Amanda Murray, Rick Gharrett Jr, David Gharrett, Megan Wilhelm, Timothy McDonald, Stephenie Oglesby, Damien Burger, Dustin Oglesby, Dante Burger, great-grandchildren; Hailee Gharrett, Dylan Murray, Gavin Murray, and David Gharrett Jr, and relatives; Brenda Shriver, Rod Burger, and Tonda Bagosy.
He was greeted into Heaven by his parents, daughter; Tara Lynn Burger and grandparents.
Steven was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather.
