Steven Hood's Obituary
Decatur-Steven Hood, 71, of Decatur, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 in his home with special sister-in-law Vikki, and brother in-law Gary, at his side.
He was born September 24, 1943 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Charles and Gladys (Swindle) Hood. He proudly served his country in the USAF. He retired from FS services, as a truck driver. He enjoyed cars especially Chevys, driving his truck, fishing in the back yard, mowing grass, listening to country music, drinking his cocktails. He married Patricia Jones April 1, 1973. She preceded him in death April 3, 2008.
He leaves behind brothers Al Hood and wife Donna of Warrensburg and Martin Hood and wife Patricia of Decatur, sister –in-laws Darlene (Roy) Black of Decatur, Julia (Wayne) Webb of Cerro Gordo, Robin (Rick) Sowers of Decatur, Vikki (Gary) Stukins of Decatur, Penny (Bill) Hardy of Maroa, a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and Bambi, the dog.
He was reunited in Heaven with his parents, wife, infant daughter Shannon Renee Hood, and brother John Hood.
Graveside services to celebrate Steve’s life will be 1pm Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in Graceland Cemetery, and conclude with “Flight Home Ceremony”.
