Steven Ray Imel's Obituary
Decatur-Steven Ray Imel, 65, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 in his home with his family by his side.
He was born September 4, 1948 in Decatur, the son of Lloyd and Mabel (Greer) Imel. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was retired from Carpenters Local #742. He enjoyed fishing, antique and hot rod cars, and golf.
He leaves behind Nanette his wife of twenty-two years, sons Dylan Lee Imel at home and Chad Steven Imel and wife Courtnay of Decatur, daughter Lesley Ann Imel of Decatur, and granddaughter Alizabeth Nicole Imel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry, and son Colton.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Velasco and the nurses and staff at Cancer Care Specialist of Central Illinois and DMH Hospice for all of their loving care.
Graveside services to celebrate Steven’s life will be 10 a.m. Thursday June 19, 2014 at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois or DMH Hospice.
