Teresa J. Berry's Obituary
Marine Corps. Sgt. Teresa J. Berry, 58, died at 12:04 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at her parent's home in Decatur after fighting a year long battle with ovarian cancer.
Teresa was born May 27, 1954 in Decatur and graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in 1972. She was born and raised an Army brat and in September of 1973 she joined the United States Marine Corps serving 4 years. She had a very fulfilling life and enjoyed every minute because her whole life was lived with the understanding that God gave her this life and she wasn't going to waste a moment of it.
She was surrounded by her parents Marvin and Jackie Berry, her beautiful daughter Teresa Marie Stroup of Evansville, IN, her eight brothers and sisters: Rose (Karl) Fehr of Lake Jackson, TX, Marvin John (Rhonda) Berry of Panama City Beach, FL, Alan (Chandra) Berry of Decatur, IL, Kenneth (Yvetta) Berry of Evansville, IN, Lillis (Tommy) Call of Decatur, IL, Royce Sr. (Connie) Berry of Joplin, MO, Rhonda (Mike) Castelli of Lovington, IL and Jeffrey (Keriann) Berry of Decatur, IL; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Service to celebrate her life will be held at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 10 a.m., with Pastor Al Rennert officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 17, 2012 from 2-5 pm at the funeral home. Burial with military rites and 'Flight Home' ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Teresa was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, four uncles, five aunts and four cousins.
