Teresa C. Hedgpeth's Obituary
Teresa Coleen Hedgpeth, 63, of Oakville, IA died at 7:12 AM Friday, September 22, 2017, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, IA.
Born February 28, 1954, in Vandalia, IL, she was the daughter of Doris Salmons and Daniel Spicer.
Teresa worked for Helping Hands Ministry of Cedar Rapids, in nursing homes, Quizno’s, and various restaurants.
She was a 1972 graduate of Eisenhower High School in Decatur, IL. She received her Associated of Art in Human Services at Kirkwood Community College in 2008 and graduated from Iowa Wesleyan in Mt. Pleasant with her Bachelor of Science in Human Services.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Nathan (Mildred M.) Comiskey of Burlington, & Blake Comiskey of Grandview; five grandchildren, Abby, Annabelle, Alexis, Aubree, & Charles Comiskey; one sister, Michelle Chandler of Decatur, IL and Kathy Mullen of Downs, IL; one brother, Paul Spicer of Phoenix, AZ; seven nieces & nephews, Kyle Chandler, Samantha McLean, Jeff Chandler, Tyler Spicer, Sarah Spicer, Aaron Kinsler, & Cory Kinsler; & two great-nephews, Lachlan & Landon, & three great-nieces, Angela, Lola, & Renessah.
She was preceded in death by her mother, one son, Jason, and one brother, Jeff.
Graveside service to celebrate Teresa’s life will be 2 PM Tuesday October 3, 2017 in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-2 PM Tuesday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. The family requests casual attire.
