Teresa Anne Martin's Obituary
Teresa "Anne" Holt Martin, 79, born August 25, 1945, in Huntington, England, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2025, in Mt. Zion, Illinois.
Anne married Edward T. Martin on April 15, 1976, beginning a loving partnership that lasted for decades. Together, they shared a love of travel, often exploring new places with their family by their side. After retiring, Anne cherished the opportunity to take frequent girls’ trips, creating lasting memories with dear friends as they adventured together.
Anne built a successful career in information technology, working for nearly 30 years at Illinois Power Company. She was proud of her work and the professional relationships she formed throughout her career.
Anne was also a dedicated animal lover and spent several years volunteering with the Humane Society of Decatur and Macon County, offering her time and heart to care for animals in need.
A creative and joyful soul, Anne poured her heart into her many hobbies. She had a special talent for quilting, painting, and crafting—often giving her creations as treasured gifts. In later years, Anne discovered a deep love for gardening. She took great pride in designing and tending to beautiful garden beds each season, always finding peace and purpose in the soil and blooms.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward T. Martin, her parents Lawrence and Vera Holt, and her brother, Robert Holt.
She is survived by her daughters: Cherie McIntyre (Scott McIntyre), Julie Lewis, and Sara Bostwick, all of Decatur, Illinois; and Cheryl Lewis (Jason Lewis) of Cream Ridge, New Jersey and her sister, Sylvia Lemmon of Norwich Norfolk, England. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Jaron, Kaylei, Zachary, Addison, and Jaxon—as well as her five cherished great-grandchildren.
