Teresa Beth Seitz's Obituary
Teresa Beth Seitz, 77, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 3:13 P.M. on Wednesday (08-07-2024) in her home.
Teresa was born on April 2, 1947, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of William Francis Mizeur and Elizabeth Mona (Tucker) Mizeur. She married Charles Allen Seitz on May 18, 1968, in Decatur, IL. Charles passed away on August 31, 2010.
Teresa was a member of Saints James and Patrick Parish. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for several years as a phlebotomist, and as a Medical Technician. She was a member of the Y.M.C.A., B.A.B.E.S. (Dove), and loved reading books to children. Teresa also had a wonderful sense of humor and was very quick witted. She will be very missed by all of her family.
She is survived by her children: Matthew A. Seitz and wife Amberlee of Decatur, IL, and Kathy E. Wood and husband John W. Wood of San Francisco, CA; six grandchildren: Marley C. Thomas, Kaleb W. Snyder, Ryan N. Thomas, Ella K. Snyder, Noah M. Seitz, and Griffin A. Seitz; two sisters: Mary Deck and husband Wilbur of Georgetown, TX and Kate Gipson of Georgetown, TX.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister Wilma E. Bell, two brothers-in-law: Ron Gipson and Charlie “Joe” Bell.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:15am Friday, August 16, at St. Patrick Church in Decatur. Visitation will be prior to the Mass, beginning at 10:30am. Burial in Garver Cemetery will follow the Mass.
