Thelma Ethel Behen's Obituary
Thelma Ethel Behen, 86, died peacefully on May 15th in Decatur Illinois.
Thelma was born on July 11, 1930 in Decatur, Illinois to John and Althea (Peck) Tooley. She married Robert Behen and the couple had two children.
Thelma enjoyed her life as a loving mother and wife. She had said many times, “I have been blessed with a good life”. She was a good Christian woman, loved the church and prayed for others daily. Thelma was a woman who was not afraid to speak her mind and cared deeply about others.
Thelma is survived by her son Steven Behen and grandchildren Dillon and Zoe. She is also survived by her brother Ed Tooley, sister Dana Deadmond and grandchildren Alyssa Crull and Breanna Ramsey.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carlyle Behen, Sister Betty Carter and daughter Theresa Behen (Sidman).
Services to celebrate Thelma’s life will be 2:00 PM Thursday, May 18, 2017 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 PM prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
