Thomas Wayne Childress' Obituary
Thomas Childress, 83, of Clinton, WI formerly of Forsyth passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013 in William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI.
Tom was born on April 7, 1930 in Oakland, IL the son of Joseph and Daisy (Baysinger) Childress. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of the Korean War Veterans Association, member of Christ Lutheran Church, and a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He attended the Clinton Senior Center in Wisconsin. He was a graduate of DeVry University and retired from Sears. He married Charlotte Heniecke in Aschuffenburg, Germany on June 4, 1955. She preceded him in death on May 14, 1998.
Surviving are his daughters, Diana Bork (Edwin) of South Beloit, IL; Ellen Templin of Moline, IL; grandchildren, Dan Wiley (Janet) of San Diego, CA; Todd Wiley (Satoko) of Japan; Tammy Fisher(Tim) of Geneseo, IL; Rick Templin (Courtney) of Massachusetts; Annie Wade (Brett) of Arizona; Valerie Bush of Oakley, IL; Loriann Bork of South Beloit, IL; and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sons-in-law, Thomas Kendall Sr. and Richard Templin, 10 brothers, and one sister.
Funeral service to celebrate Thomas’ life will be 10 AM Monday, October 7, 2013 in St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Russell Wiese officiating. Visitation will be 6- 8 PM Sunday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church or Korean War Veterans Association.
