Thomas L. Cropper's Obituary
Thomas L. Cropper, 77, of Decatur, passed away Monday, May 6, 2019, in his home.
Tom was born January 23, 1942, in Macomb, IL, the son of Leighton Meadows and Ora Elizabeth (Hamilton) Cropper. He grew up in Niantic, IL and graduated from college in Kansas State University, with a degree in Agriculture.
He was an absolute character, Tom was an avid hunter, fisherman and tinkerer. He played guitar, made and collected knives. He was a life-long dog owner, loved motorcycles, reading and guns.
He is survived by his loving longtime partner, Shirley Peoples; her children, Chris Peoples and Stacy Peoples, all of Decatur; his children, David (Joni) Cropper of Woodside, CA and Tracy Cropper of Menlo Park, CA; his grandchildren, Brian Cropper and Haley Cropper of San Francisco, CA, Adam Cropper of Los Angeles, CA, and Faith Cropper of Menlo Park , CA; and his sister, Martha Cropper.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services to celebrate the life of Tom Cropper will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.
