Thomas Wayne Lewis' Obituary
Thomas Wayne Lewis, 63, passed away on Wednesday (08-23-2023) in Genesis Medical Center Coshocton, Ohio.
Tom was born on December 9, 1959, in Decatur, IL, the son of William Thomas Lewis and Elsie Eileen (Moore) Lewis. He married Michelle Renee Lewis on July 18, 1987, in Decatur, IL. Michelle preceded him in death on April 2, 2019.
He worked at A.D.M. for 12 years. He loved Nascar and was a Dale Earnhardt fan and was also a Scout Master for Troop 61 in Forsyth, IL.
Tom was a beloved husband, father, and grandpa. He lived and breathed for a day on the lake ripping across the water in a ranger boat fishing for large mouth bass. He loved to cook, always making holiday dinners fit for a king. He loved country music and could always be found singing something new, those songs spoke to him like church hymms. But most of all, he loved his family. Tom was the person you could always count on, no distance too far, no hurdle too high. He beamed with pride as he stood by his children’s side for each new accomplishment, he smiled from ear to ear holding each of his grandchildren for the first time, and you could watch the love well up in his eyes each time he spoke about his late wife, Michelle. He spent the last three years of his life learning how to start over with his girlfriend Sarah Bloch. He found much comfort in her, who understood the great pain loss left behind. They enjoyed many adventures together, traveling and living life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed by all.
He is survived by his parents William and Elsie; son: Andrew Thomas Lewis and wife Whitney of Decatur, IL, daughter: Abigail Renee Opland and husband Matthew of Mindoro, WI, three brothers: Merle Lewis of Oreana, IL, Bill Lewis of Austin, MO, Jim Lewis of Beecher City, IL, grandchildren: Kinsley Opland and Rhett Opland; and girlfriend Sarah Bloch of Springfield, IL.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday (08-29-2023) at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home.
