Decatur - Thomas “TJ” Jerry Neeley II went to be with the Lord at 10:05 am on Friday March 13, 2026. He was 39 years old.
TJ was born on November 1, 1986, in Decatur to Thomas J Neeley and Laura E Gilpin (Smith-Neeley)
He attended Decatur Public Schools, Northwest Christian Academy, and Decatur Christian School. He was active in Boy Scout Troop 5. He was self employed.
He is survived by his parents: Thomas J Neeley and wife Tisha of Decatur, Laura E Gilpin and husband Bill of Taylorville. Sister JoEllyn Jones (Cory) of Decatur. Joseph Scott Minor of North Carolina. Stepsister Carly Birch of Decatur. And other siblings. Nieces Taylor Gaither (Austin) of Decatur, Tessa Neeley of Metamora IL, Brianna McDermith of Decatur, and Destiny Perry. Nephews: Dakota McDermith of Decatur, Austin Perry, and Nicholas Minor. Great nieces: Sami, Madi, and Autumn. Great nephew James. Grandparents Jerry and Peggy Neeley of Decatur. And many aunts, uncles and close cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Lee (Leota) and Melvin Hackney, cousins: Brian Gordon and Madison McCoy.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 1 pm until the funeral service at 3 pm at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.
TJ loved life and lived it to the fullest every day! He will be missed by everyone that knew and loved him!
