Timothy L. O'Neill's Obituary
On Thursday, April 18, 2019, Timothy L. O’Neill, loving husband, father, and friend, passed away at the age of 60 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Tim was born November 28, 1958 in Urbana, IL, the son of Raymond and Virginia (Poindexter) O’Neill. He graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale where he met Karen Ring. They were later married on September 6, 1984 in Skokie, IL and raised two sons, Brian and Sean, in Decatur, IL.
For the last 9 years, Tim worked as the Director of Food and Beverage at the Decatur Conference Center & Hotel. Previously, he was the General Manager at Jimmy Ryan’s restaurant from 1998-2010.
Tim loved to see others smile and was always quick with a joke and a laugh.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Virginia, and brother Dan O’Neill. He is survived by his wife Karen; his two sons Brian O’Neill and Sean O’Neill; siblings Patty Jones, Tom O’Neill (Connie), Pam O’Neill, Teresa Milam (Frank) and Mike O’Neill; plus many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. and funeral service Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 11 a.m. Both services will be held at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Cremation will follow services.
