Tom and I were roommates at the University of Illinois for a couple of years. We had great times going to UI football and basketball games, working out at the gym, talking about science, and yes, going to a few parties and bars. We lost touch over the years, and another one of our roommates recently told me about Tom passing. He was a good man, and although I’m sad today, I’ll try to focus on remembering his laugh. All best wishes to your family in finding a way through the sorrow in the days ahead.

It seems so unreal to have received the news about Toomas. We only met him once in 2002 – but the special person he was and the amazing family of his – have kept in touch over the last 16 years.Toomas – your empty place is difficult to absorb – but the knowing that you are safe and happy wit Jesus – makes it bearable. May God comfort; console and carry the Kriisa family and their loved ones through this very very trying period in their lives. Jan, I was so dismayed to learn of your loss. It has been years since our lives crossed, but I remember Toomas as a gentle, creative man.. I didn't know Toomas well but I will always remember him helping with communion at First Lutheran. His voice was so calming and loving and I know Jesus was using him to help others know Jesus was forgiving my sins. Your whole family is in my prayers.
