Trucilla L. Enz-McLaughlin's Obituary
TRUCILLA L. ENZ MCLAUGHLIN, AKA AUNT SAH – Trucilla L. McLaughlin, died unexpectedly December 3, 2021. She was born October 16, 1947, in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of James C. Dowd and Margie L. (Bourne) Dowd-Coffey.
Trucilla attended St. Teresa H.S. in Decatur, IL. She received her Illinois realtor’s license and had advanced studies of Egyptian / Arabian Horse pedigrees and breeding.
Trucilla married her soulmate, best friend and fairytale true love, Richard A. McLaughlin in 1992. Together, they joined their hearts, their children, and their families. They continued their love of horses and animals together and shared their knowledge with people far and wide.
Trucilla (Sah; Aunt Sah) brought light, love and charity to every dark corner, burdened soul, or aching heart she encountered. Her gifts were joy and enthusiasm for her profound Faith in Jesus. She, above all else, embraced her calling to spread the gospel through word and deed, through twinkling lights at Christmas, bringing food to the hungry, laughter to the lonely, and kindness and generosity to every passerby. She was truly one of a kind.
In addition to her parents, James C. Dowd, Margie L. Dowd-Coffey, Newlon J. Coffey, she was preceded in death by sister Mary Ella, her sister Eileen Eldridge and her brother James G. Dowd.
In addition to her beloved husband, Richard A. McLaughlin, she was survived by her son, Todd Enz, daughter, Ariana Blumenfeld-James (Nathan) and 3 grandchildren, Cory and Ross Phillips and Wolf Blumenfeld-James. In addition, Trucilla was survived by her brothers Jon Mark Dowd and Timothy Dowd (Karen), her sister Necia Shelton (Patrick) and her sister Margie Landrum (James). She was also survived by her nieces and nephews, Kandy H., Holly C., Timothy Shawn D., Shari E., Jason P., Jami F., Pat S., Jason A., Eric L., Dallas M., Jhenna M., Christopher D., Kattie C., Bryn B., and an abundance of great nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she cherished and loved beyond measure.
A celebration of life for Trucilla will be planned for Spring/Summer of 2022.
She touched the hearts of everyone she met. She will be profoundly missed.
