Ty J. Doolen's Obituary
Ty J. Doolen, 39, of Oakley, Illinois, passed away February 24, 2026.
Ty was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on April 2, 1986, the son of Carl and Denise (Metzger) Doolen. Ty was a concrete finisher by trade. He recently worked for Murrell’s Disposal. In his free time, he was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycles, bonfires, mudding, and football.
Ty is survived by his mother Denise Burdick and stepfather Jeff Burdick; significant other Lindsey Raffety; children Jacob (Ciley) Doolen, Jaeli (Brenndan) Doolen, and Gunnar (Sara) Gerahart; siblings Jared (Alyssa) Burdick, Shelby Burdick, and Chase Ratcliff; nephews Brooks Haskell and Denver Burdick; nieces Avery Burdick and Harlee Haskell; step-grandmother Connie Doolen; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father Carl Doolen Jr.; grandparents Carl Doolen Sr., Sandy & Dave O’Brien, Robert & Patricia Metzger, and Helen Burdick; and stepmother Sheree Doolen.
Visitation for Ty will be from 11am to 12pm on Friday, February 27, at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 12pm following the visitation at the funeral home. Burial in Fairlawn Cemetery will follow the service. The family would like to invite everyone to Pop’s Place for a Celebration of Life after the burial. Memorials may be directed to Heritage Behavioral Health Center.
