Van Richard "Dick" Frischkorn's Obituary
Decatur – Van Richard “Dick” Frischkorn, 88, of Decatur, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025.
Dick was born in Gary, IN the son of Van E. and Marian (Livingston) Frischkorn on April 23, 1937. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Dick worked at Firestone for many years. He married Dorothy Helene Carlson on August 23, 1974, and she preceded him in death on May 16, 2024.
Dick was an avid stamp and coin collector, lover of animals and a lifelong donator to the humane society. He could often be found sitting at the dining room table working on his collections, blasting country music, and singing one beat behind.
Dick is survived by his son Van Shawn Frischkorn, stepson Mark (Ela) Kereszturi; grandchildren, Madalyne and Ethan; grandchildren of the heart, Rebecca (Claudio) Cordova, Devon Trolia, Ben VonBehren, and Sam VonBehren; great-grandchildren of the heart, Caius and Trystan.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 50 years Dorothy.
In honor of his wishes, cremation services will be provided by Graceland/Fairlawn Crematory. There will be no services.
