Vi Arnold's Obituary
Decatur-Vi (Violet M.) Arnold, 95, of Decatur formerly of Dover, Ohio, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Vi was born March 22, 1918 in Glasgow, Scotland, the daughter of Mitchell and Violet (Gillis) Sorbie. She was previously employed in sales with the Tuscarawas County Automobile Club for over forty years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Past-President of the Business and Professional Women's Club, First female President of the Dover Ohio Kiwanis Club at the age of eighty-five, and active in women's fellowship at the First Moravian Church in Dover, Ohio. She enjoyed reading, dominos, bridge, and Jass. She married John H. Arnold April 22, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1996.
She leaves behind her son Steve Arnold and wife Sherri and granddaughter Katherine Arnold.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Thomas Sorbie.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Khan, Sarah Coulter and the staff on 6400 at DMH, and to Chris Pope and the staff on 4100 at DMH.
Memorial services to celebrate Vi's life will be held in Dover, Ohio at a later date.
