Decatur- Vicki Anne Alward, 59, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011 in her home with her loving family at her bedside
A private graveside service to celebrate the life of Vicki will be held at West Side Cemetery in Moweaqua, Illinois. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Lynch Syndrome International Charity at www.lynchcancers.com. Vicki was born September 1, 1951 in Pana, Illinois, the daughter of Douglas J. Price and Rose Marie (Holland) Allsop. Vicki raised four wonderful children and adored her four grandchildren. She was a loving wife and a nurturing mother. Her passion was writing poetry, traveling the world, and spending time with family. Vicki was a very giving person and changed the lives of the people she touched. Her laugh, smile, and heart encouraged those to love and cherish life. She married Dr. Phillip Alward in San Jose, California on September 12, 1969.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband; Phillip, sons; Grant Phillip and wife Carrie of Orlando, FL. Timothy Douglas and wife Jacki also of Orland, FL. and Andrew Tyler of Decatur, daughter; Jenifer K. Alward-Dapper and husband Sebo of Mahomet, grandchildren Erin E. Dapper, Megan O. Dapper, Grant P. Alward, and Emma R. Alward.
She was preceded in death by her father Douglas.
