Vicki L. Murphey's Obituary
Decatur- Vicki L. Murphey, 62, of Decatur passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
Memorial services to celebrate Vicki's life will be 6 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Maranatha Assembly of God Church, 555 W. Imboden in Decatur. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Vicki was born January 1, 1950 in Pocahontas, Illinois the daughter of Robert Frank and Martha Gene (Stewart) Miles. She was previously employed as an assistant underwriter with Federal Kemper Insurance and then with Zexel. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She married David Murphey September 7, 1995.
She leaves behind her husband David, mother Gene Miles of Maroa, son Joel Cooprider and fiancée Angie of Oreana, daughters Laurel Evans and husband Andrew of Decatur, Stacey Murphey of Rantoul and Tara Murphey of Heyworth, grandchildren Marlin Jr., Maiyanna, Malia, Andrew, Akeem, Victoria, and Emily, brother Kevin Miles of Argenta, nieces Kelly and Macey, and nephew Matthew.
She was preceded in death by her father.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff in the ER and ICU at DMH for all of their compassionate care.
