Vincent Tyler "Tye" Rowan's Obituary
Vincent Tyler Rowan, "Tye"
Vincent Tyler Rowan, affectionately known as Tye, passed away on March 24, 2025. Born on December 11, 1969, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Tye was raised and lived in Decatur, IL. He is survived by his loving mother, Carol Forbes; his sister, Staci Bonds; his brother, Derek Rowan; his aunt, Mary Hiser; his nieces, Savannah Rowan, Samantha Sharp, and Grace Bonds; and his nephew, Andrew Kovaleski. He was preceded in death by his father, Willis Rowan Jr.
Tye attended MacArthur High School, where he wrestled, chased the ladies, partied, and probably pulled up thinking he was the coolest kid in town in his white 80’s Official Pace Car Trans Am with the huge Eagle on the hood, those were the days! He loved his work and worked hard in the sweltering summer heat installing siding and gutters. The softer side of him was that he had a deep love for animals, especially his dogs (Chewy, Sidney, Natasha, Pig, Nayla, Zoe, G, and Dutchess). He was a freshwater fish aquarium enthusiast and at different times had a Red Devil, Oscars, Snakeheads, and Piranhas. Tye also enjoyed fishing, and some of his childhood friends will remember the huge Large Mouth Bass he caught at the pond behind WAND TV station, a record-breaking fish for a boy his age! He also had the amazing natural ability, from his German heritage, to grow some of the lushest tomatoes, peppers, corn and maybe something magical. He was left-handed and within his family was known for his ability to draw well. Growing up, he taught everyone in the neighborhood how to use a clutch and switch gears on his white 80 cc Yamaha dirt bike.
Tye was a humble man, who never complained, and loved to have a good time back in the day. He will be deeply missed by his closest friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Human Society of Decatur & Macon County, reflecting Tye's love for animals.
