Virgil E. Wright's Obituary
Decatur – Virgil E. Wright, 66, of Decatur, passed away November 8, 2009 from injuries received in a motorcycle accident in Deland, Florida.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Military Rites and the “Flight Home” Ceremony to conclude services. The family request casual attire. Virgil was born May 3, 1943 in Vandalia, Illinois, the son of Orville and Marjorie (Cearlock) Wright. He married Sharon K. Fitzgerald on October 25, 1966. They celebrated their 43rd anniversary both on life support. Virgil was a Vietnam Veteran from 1966 thru 1967 serving in the army. After returning home he went to work at Borg-Warner York Division for 21 years and then to Mueller Co. for 17 years.
Virgil loved his motorcycle, golfing, boating, and traveling with his wife. He rarely missed an Illinois game. He just enjoyed having a good time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry his beloved buddie, Squirt, son: Michael, brothers: Ted Cearlock, and Fred Wright, nephew: Dan Kellow.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters, and his in-laws Mary and Everett Fitzgerald.
Virgil will be greatly missed. Thank you to all of his family and friends, who have been such a blessing. Also, thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Halifax Hospital in Daytona, Florida.
