Virginia B. Flugaur's Obituary
Decatur-Virginia B. Flugaur, 92, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Virginia was born August 28, 1921 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin the daughter of Frank and Frances Kufel. She retired from Montgomery Wards and was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, and ABWA Golden Girls. She was an excellent cook that enjoyed bowling, watching figure skating, and Lawrence Welk. She married Richard J. Flugaur June 5, 1943. He preceded her in death in September 16, 2004.
She leaves behind her daughter Kathleen Flugaur of Decatur and son-in-law Bill, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren all of North Carolina.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, one daughter Elizabeth, and two infant grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Virginia’s life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2160 N. Edward St. Decatur, with Rev. Rick Weltin, Celebrant. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
