Virginia Lea Maddox, 78, of Decatur passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Virginia was born on October 5, 1938 in Cleveland, OH the daughter of Charles Edward and Maryfrances Ann(Holley) Spencer. She enjoyed sewing, painting, and gardening. She married William S. Maddox Jr. on July 18, 1981 in Ventura, CA. He preceded her in death on May 23, 2012.
Surviving are her daughters, Christina Ann Sliney (Kevin) of Warrensburg; Cinda Lynn Garcia of Ventura, CA; grandchildren Maria Silvas (Braden), Virginia Bolsen, Bobby Castor, Charles Castor (Lorien) Eddie McMillian, Matt Sliney (Laura), Adam Sliney, Christine Burnett; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Joseph Scott Garcia, daughter Linda Garcia, grandson Nicholas Castor, sisters Laverne Wimer, Charlene Spencer, Patricia Spencer, and baby girl Spencer.
Cryptside service to celebrate Virginia’s life will be 1:30 PM Monday September 11, 2017 in Mary Queen of Angels Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery.
