Virginia Marie Moore's Obituary
Virginia Marie Moore, 97, of Forsyth, IL, passed away at 8:04 am on Monday (06-10-2024) in Hickory Point Christian Village.
Virginia was born on January 31, 1927, Decatur, IL, the daughter of John Ellis Jennings and Edith Marie (Whitsett) Jennings. She married Laverne E. Moore on December 22, 1946, in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death on January 20. 2018.
Virginia was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church Decatur, IL, and most recently attended Forsyth Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, and loved to spend time with family and church friends.
She is survived by her children: Richard Moore and wife Rica of Forsyth, IL; Karen Thomas of Decatur, IL; and Kathryn Montgomery and husband Kevin of Maroa, IL; three granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; brother: Robert Jennings of Chattanooga, TN; sister: Rebecca Hockaday of Forsyth, IL.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Ronald Ray Moore, one brother John Jennings, and two sisters Ellen Baker and Ruth Huffman.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday (06-18-2024) at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service time. The burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
