Wallace "Wally" Williams' Obituary
Decatur-Wallace H. “Wally” Williams Sr., 73, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in San Diego, California.
He was born April 27, 1941 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of William Otis and Evelyn Jean (Plunkett) Williams. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was previously employed with ADM retiring after thirty-eight years of service. He was a member of GT Church and loved spending time with children and grandchildren. He married Sharon L. McCarty May 27, 1963. She preceded him in death June 26. 2014. They shared over fifty-one years together.
He leaves behind his children Melanie (Jesus) Godinez of San Diego, California, Valarie (Lyle “Eddie”) Street of Macon, and Wallace Jr. of Decatur, mother Evelyn Williams of Decatur, grandchildren Jennifer, Jessica, and Michael Hector, Andrea Betzer and John Street, and Brittany (Sean) Manual and Austin and Coltin Williams and their mother Rhonda, great-grandchildren Caden, Hayley, and Kylie Betzer, brother Larry Michael Williams, sisters Patricia Buckner, Terri Logue, and Beverly Ann Williams, brother-in-law Stanley (Carol) McCarty and his beloved dog Oscar.
He was reunited in Heaven with his father, wife, brother David Lee Williams, and infant twins Lynn and Lenett.
Services to celebrate Wally’s life will be 11 AM Friday, September 12, 2014 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with Military honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.
