Wanda M. Tarrant's Obituary
Decatur-Wanda M. Tarrant, 85, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Wanda was born August 26, 1930 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of George and Hildred (Elsea) Rozzell. In her younger years she worked at the Shore Restaurant where she met her future husband Clark. She then went to work as the bookkeeper for Quigle’s Furniture Store. Wanda attended Lampstand Presbyterian Church. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed crossword puzzles and music. Most of all she loved and enjoyed spending time with her family. Wanda married Clark E. Tarrant November 3, 1960. He preceded her in death December 20, 1992.
Wanda leaves behind her children Carol Cross, Cheryl (Richard) Leith, Jeff R. (Sherry) Tarrant, Gregory Clark (Janet) Tarrant, and Mary H. Tarrant Haynes, one sister Beverly (Bob) Anderson, brothers Carroll (Eleanor) Rozzell, Ray (Sally) Rozzell, and Frank (Doris) Rozzell, eleven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister LullaBelle March, and grandson Jerry Lee Cross.
Services to celebrate Wanda’s life will be 10 AM Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Pitzer officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday, May 27, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Lampstand Presbyterian Church, 655 S Airport Rd, Decatur, IL 62521.
