Waverly Binegar's Obituary
Forsyth-Waverly J. Binegar, 87, of Forsyth formerly of Troy, MO, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Waverly was born February 28, 1924 in Tuscola, IL the son of Grant W. and Mary (Bostic) Binegar. He was a graduate of Arthur High School and later attended college. Waverly proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was an anti aircraft gunner and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Waverly was employed as a sales manager for Thom Mcan Shoe Stores and Fendall Safety Glasses. He married Evelyn M. Long on August 2, 1948 in Arcola, IL. Waverly was a member of the Forsyth United Methodist Church, an avid Wii Bowler, and Chicago Cubs Baseball Fan.
Waverly dearly loved and enjoyed his entire family.
Waverly is survived by his loving wife of nearly 63 years Evelyn Binegar of Forsyth; sister, Vicann Binegar of St. Charles, MO; 10 nieces; 8 nephews; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles 'Bud' Binegar; sister, Marilou Butler; and his nephew Freddy Butler.
Services to celebrate Waverly's life will be 11:00 am Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Forsyth United Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to services from 10 ' 11:00 am at the church. Interment will be in Arthur Cemetery at Arthur, IL. Services will conclude with military rites by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorial donations may be directed to the Forsyth United Methodist Church or Hickory Point Christian Village.
