i knew Bill many years here in Decatur, and whenever he and Regina were at a party , it was always a good time. After retiring we started spending winters in South Alabama, which Bill had been doing for 3 or 4 years.The very first time down there he took us under his wing and drove us all over the place and was an excellent tour guide. We visited an unlimited number of watering holes, and every place that had a special on oysters that particular day.He knew everyone of them.. We had a great time with both of them.I'll always remember his spirit and his quick wit. Fun guy!!!!!

Condolences to Nicole and Brenda. I will always remember Cousin Bill as "Big Bill". The best times I recall with Bill were at Christmas parties at his parents, my Aunt Ardy and Uncle Willy. I will never forget his unique gravelly voice. Bill and Regina would visit our family in Virginia when attending Judo camp and we would see them during summer vacation trips to Decatur.

Nothing but fun and heart-filled memories at the Horve House! Bill always made you feel welcome and special! Tom and I will always remember the hot tub and drinking Schlitz on Lake Decatur! I will always cherish childhood memories of bar comedy shows where Bill was our number one fan! Our families always shared a special bond and that includes parents and siblings who were taken from us way too soon. May God bless you All during this time, and may the sweet memories remind you that he will always be in your hearts.

Friendship, laughter, and great memories will live in our hearts forever. Bill always had time for family and friends. Ed never held it against him being a devoted Packer Fan. We can see that "big smile" as he shouted THE PAC IS BACK.

May you enjoy peace in knowing that he's enjoying a beer, playing poker and knowing what the heck the Packers are going to do next year!

I've recently learned from personal experience that caring for a loved one who is failing is devastating and consuming. Providing for their needs and wishes is an objective that is often difficult to achieve. Memories of happier times are replaced with sorrow and sadness as they slip away from us.

I've also learned that when they pass it's OK to be relieved in knowing they are at peace.

This weekend, I'm going to enjoy a beer for Bill, another for my husband John and his brothers, Larry and Matt and,,,,,,Ooops! Sorry Nicole! Guess I could get carried away!

Please accept my most sincere wishes that your family find contentment and relief.

Those sunset pictures he always took from the deck at the house on Lake Decatur always got me. He was such a hard ass on Bill when we were kids, and then he turned into such a soft touch later in life...but I guess we all do eventually. He went out as peaceful as any of us can hope for, and I am glad you were able to be there with him to the end.
