Wilbert Carl Quandt, 91, of Decatur passed away on Wednesday, October 01, 2014 in Hickory Point Christian Village.
Wilbert was born on April 1, 1923 in Hubbard Township, WI the son of Carl and Mathilda (Christian) Quandt. He was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and was a USMC Veteran of WWII. He married Ruby F. McDonald on December 7, 1946 in Woodland, WI.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby; son, Gary Quandt (Nancy) of Forsyth; daughter, Sherry Egan (John) of Decatur; grandchildren, Kris Quandt (Cheryl) of Forsyth; Casey Scott (Jason) of Heyworth, IL; Ben Egan (Jodi) of Haymarket, VA; Paul Egan (Christina) of Nashville, TN, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Verna Pieper, Marcella Knoll, and an infant sister Lorraine.
Funeral service celebrating God’s gift of eternal life for Wilbert will be 11 AM Friday, October 3, 2014 in Pilgrim Lutheran Church with Pastors William and Brock Abbott officiating. Visitation will be 10:30- 11 AM Friday in the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Pilgrim Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.
