Willard Norman Goff, 86, Decatur, IL, passed away June 06, 2025, peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Visitation for Willard will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held the following day, Friday, June 13, 2025 at 10:00 AM also at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Dr Pat Pajak officiating. Burial to follow in Graceland Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Willard was born May 7, 1939, in Moccasin Twp., Blue Point, IL, the son of Henry T. and Sylvia A. (Oary) Goff. He married Carol Roberts on March 23, 1985.
Willard attended Decatur High School before joining the U S Navy in November 1960, where he served as radarman aboard the USS Holder at Norfolk, VA. Upon receiving his honorable discharge he was employed at A. E. Staley Mfg. Co in Decatur IL, retiring in 1995 after 32 years as lead processor operator.
Willard was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for over 40 years serving as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, Bible Study Teacher and Preschool worker. He loved working for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Willard enjoyed antiquing, fishing, hunting, bowling, as well as other sports and was an avid St Louis Cardinal fan. His highlight was spending time with his best friend and wife, Carol. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy; he was very proud of each one of them.
Willard is survived by his wife, Carol, of 40 years, children Tammie (Klaus) Engels of Dallas, TX and children, Madison and Sydney; Lori Hanson of Mt Zion and children Courtney (Matt) Layton and their children, Isaac, Emerson, Michaela, Alexis (Josh) Johnson and daughter, Sophia and Skyler of North Plain, OR; Becky (Rick) Schultz of Oakley, IL; and Tracie (Michael) McGee of Decatur, IL and children Zachary (Cassie) Briggs and their children Madison, Elliott, Barrett and Cade; Taylor (Chase) Tabor and their children, Phoenix, Griffyn of Monticello, IL, and Jessica (Blake) Fonner of Macon, IL and daughter, Finley.
Willard is also survived by Debbie (Dan) Morse of Decatur IL and their children Kristy and Mandy; Terry (DeAnna) Goff of Greenfield, IN; Pam (Doug) of Oreana, IL and daughters Macey and Vicki Maxey of Decatur, IL and son, Zach.
Will is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Gene, Glenn, Roy, Ray, Darrell, Jerry and Lloyd and sisters: Pauline and Eileen.
Willard will be missed by all that loved him and knew him.
