William "Bill" Edward Wickline's Obituary
William “Bill” Edward Wickline, 81, of Assumption, IL, passed away at 10:14 A.M. on Sunday (09-22-2024) in his home.
Bill was born on March 8, 1943, in Mattoon, IL, the son of Floyd Edward Wickline and Mary Elizabeth (Evans) Wickline. He married Deborah Lynn Myers on February 1, 1975, in Decatur, IL. She preceded Bill in death on March 23, 2008.
Bill served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the VFW #6577 of Assumption, IL, American Legion #0284 of Assumption, IL, the Illinois Sheriff’s Association, and the Knife Maker’s Guild. Bill loved all forms of racing, including Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, he was just a big car guy. He also loved going antiquing and was a collector of many things. His most important love though was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Bill is survived by his children: Jaime Atkinson and husband Keith of Assumption, IL; Cody Wickline and wife Caitlin of Assumption, IL; Josh Patrick and wife Holly of Athens, IL; grandchildren: Allison Norman and husband Zach, Cale Atkinson and wife Mercedes, Emily Atkinson and fiancé Chance, Ryan Atkinson, Tenley Wickline, Teagan Wickline, and Sydney Rees; great –grandchildren: Natalie Norman and Easton Norman; and one brother James L. Wickline of Decatur, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and special friend Cinda Patrick.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday (10-04-2024) at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home with visitation two hours prior to the service time. The burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
